Each of Good Architecture's iconic house designs are the response to a combination of client, site, history, and place. Reverence is paid to each of these four factors throughout the design process, from schematics through construction. Many of the houses that Good Architecture designs are located along the shorelines of the Chesapeake Bay and in Annapolis, Maryland. The city of Annapolis is almost 400 years old and has a rich history of grand waterfront houses dating back to the eighteenth century. Understanding and respecting this rich domestic architectural history is front of mind when designing a new home, or renovating an old home, in Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay region. Good Architecture takes great pride in their contextual designs as continuing this unique Annapolitan architectural tradition, fighting to keep "McMansions" off the Chesapeake's shorelines, while increasing appreciation of the integrity of the architectural heritage of the region.
